“ We visited the Mount Gambier Brewery last night and had a generally pleasant experience, though there were a few things that could be improved. The venue itself has a great vibe, not too busy, with a warm fire crackling in the fireplace and plenty of seating. While walk-ins seemed fine on our visit, I’d recommend making a booking, just to be safe. There's a bar on site with a reasonable selection of drinks. We ordered the share platter, which included brisket, pork and beef sausage, burnt pork ends, and pork ribs. The flavours were fantastic, and the meats were cooked well, but unfortunately, most of it arrived only lukewarm. We also had the corn ribs, which were tasty but again, not served hot. Service was friendly, though perhaps a bit too casual. Drinks that needed opening weren’t opened, and they were delivered without a tray, the barman carried glasses and bottles under his arm, which felt a little unpolished for a venue of this style. On the upside, parking was well-lit, and the toilets were clean and well-maintained. All in all, it’s a nice place with good food and atmosphere, but the service and temperature of the food let it down slightly. With a bit more attention to detail, it could be a real standout. ”
